extended family

i used to be so great at keeping up with people. it seems that now, with two kids and a dog, i have very little left over to give to family & friends that don't live nearby. so today i just want to send a shout-out to jeff's family, who we are the WORST at keeping in touch with. there is so much richness in culture that sadly our kids do not experience because their mom is a suburban blonde chick. this was taken during our visit to 'ama' and 'akon's' house in new jersey over Christmas.

it's been awhile since we've had a family photo taken, but here is one! we stopped our neighbor (well that would have been ME that stopped then neighbor!) and asked him to take one. taken just after a walk around the block, noah riding his bike of course!
home renovations continue! photos will be posted when my house is no longer trashed!!! the rusted chainlink fence comes down today, which is such a fun relief, but it does bring with it the work of taking our dog out for the next week without a barrier. should be interesting. have a great wednesday!

two brothers

this is noah and joshua at the same age. crazy! it's amazing how they change, and yet how they always look the same. they do look different--j's hair is so much lighter, and he's a little more pudgy (but not by much!). their personalities on the other hand couldn't be any more different!

our joshua is starting to talk nonstop these days, and he especiallyloves to chat on the phone! not a sound of it makes any sense (at least to us!) but it is adorable. he'll often bring me the phone and request that we make calls. when is it that these kiddos begin to make sentences?

we've been sick around here, and haven't had much blog-worthy news. but soon we are starting some home renovations that i am molto-excited about. new patio, extended driveway, updated kitchen, etc. love it! will post photos of that process when it begins.

separation anxiety

so poor jeff has been working his tail off lately! he has been working many late nights, but that means family breakfast and cartoon time. the kids love it! the only sad thing is that when he leaves to go to work, poor joshua gets SO sad. after the tears and hanging on for dear life, me and the boys rush to the window to 'wave bye-bye to daddy.' joshua is still not waving really, but it seems to soothe him. he is a sweet boy and i just love this age!
