roller skating

so one of my most FUN friends visited last night and we had a great double date roller skating! it was us old folks along with a middle school birthday party and it was a BLAST! kuddos to clare who has such crazy ideas.

totally brought back memories of my third grade boyfriend (loser!) who yes dumped me on the playground because i was fat (i'm not bitter or anything) who wore his black "members only" jacket at the roll-a-round in charlotte with the sticker he purchased AT the skate rink (yes!) saying 'i love girls.' heavens! but we had many a sweet moment couple skating.

so last night was fun is all i'm trying to say! and with only one major fall. clare, way to win the speed skating championship!

sassy poodle

i love this picture for two reasons: 1) it's of the sassy poodle with her new haircut, and 2) sweet joshua is so little in this picture! i was looking back through old fotos and i came upon this one. so our life it is! random and crazy. but i was in such a fog during joshua's babyhood that i don't really remember his cooing and crawling and stuff. he was so cute, i was just too tired to realize it! soon will send along photos from our weekend at jeff's 10-year davidson reunion.

noah's horseride, 2008

instead of calling it family camp, noah says it's "going to the mountains." so that means every time we head West he expects the glorious accommodations of Windy Gap: freedom to ride horses, beautiful housing, wonderful friends seemingly around every corner, hysterical entertainment, and scrumptious meals served to us by VERY happy high school kids. it really is so much fun to go, and jeff leading singing only adds to our fun. it is such a gift, and we remember our fun days of working with young life. with a moment to myself this weekend, looking out over the lake, i thought of the YEARS (has it been17?) that i have visited windy gap and been blessed, remembering God's immense love for ME, yes ME. good stuff to remember, and who was that smarty that thought YL was also good for families?!!! we are so glad they did. for those of you who know YL it was really neat to see first-hand jim rayburn's (the founder) former secretary from back in the day. yep, she was there with her daughter and grandkids. so cool that what he did so many years ago has blessed millions of individual hearts and lives.

family camp

more to come but we're just unpacking from a wonderful weekend at windy gap. my soul is always refreshed there. the beauty, the stillness, the lack of cellphone service, aahhh. the kids loved it and i'll post a photo of the horseride soon.
