my God is so BIG!...
...so strong and so mighty, there's nothing my God cannot do!
a song we sing alot of around here and that speaks volumes to my soul.
dao-do-da-da
joshua's vocab is growing--wawoo=water, riwee=riley, you get the picture. but when he is really telling us something, ya know, with gusto, it sounds like this.
i had to post because we finally cut his mullet and his haircut makes him look like such a big boy!
have a great monday.

the wall
so we're STILL in the midst of renovations. who would think they could take a month!!! but it's all lovely and we'll enjoy them this spring. here are my boys sitting on our new wall. i've joked that the cost of this beautiful wall equals one year of private school kindergarten. we'll try not to think about that too much! and yes, the bobcat is still in our yard.
we celebrated easter at noah's school today. i was in charge of story time and it made me appreciate all the more those amazing teachers he has (who deserve a raise!!).
have a great weekend.

jeff & stacy
so this weekend, thanks to my mom and our dear friends becky & jacob, jeff and i were able to ESCAPE reality and remember who WE are. it was so nice! i found such freedom and discovered i COULD, at least for a few moments, let my hair down. or at least just remember that she is in there somewhere! that girl, you know, who is more than laundry, meal time, and candy land champ.
we went on a drive up to southwest virginia, stayed in a b&b, visited a winery, ate some local food, and had a restful morning, reading and journaling by a beautiful creek. jeff loved driving the winding roads at top speed and being reminded too that he can conquer a piece of the world.
at the end of it all, we were thrilled to get our kids back and enjoyed a twenty minute very adult conversation with noah tonight, all on his bed, him telling us about his travels. it's funny what he talks about.
and that is the beauty--when WE have an adventure, the kids have their very own to tell about as well. ahhhhh. it's good to go away, because then you remember why you always come back!

joshua, show me your new train...
so last night we took a family trip to the toys r us--something we've NEVER done as a family, much less alone. needless to say, noah thought he'd landed in heaven. we got each of the boys one new toy each and a new plastic picnic table for our new outdoor living space, all thanks to gift cards received for christmas. joshua got a new train (annabel) and noah got an astronaut action figure. he now declares that becoming an astronaut is his life dream. so cool! jeff is leading worship at church today and we'll have small group later. a good sunday!
