look at that smile!

last night the boys were playing around with the idea of sleeping together. not that it really was a possibility, but lately we're researching bunk beds and talking to them both about how they will soon be sharing a room. joshua LOVED the idea of laying next to noah, under a big boy blanket and all. so fun to see them grow.

davidson reunion

the crew heading towards fun

the boys at the reunion soiree

the kids running on the track (noah LOVEs to race)

hard to believe 8 years before becky lured me to this place to have jeff propose to me!

so i'm finally posting about our weekend 6ish weeks ago! it really was fun for me, the carolina grad. i'm always so amazed at the community had at a small school. i'm also WAY intimidated by the thinkers that go to that school! i am definitely NOT a davidson grad. i love that many of my morning lectures were had with my bagel and cream cheese in hand, hiding in the back of class behind my DTH....

the kids loved it, we visited with jeff's BEST buds from college (yay!) and it was so nice to be amidst the beauty of davidson's campus. it is good to marry up!!!

daddy-time

so daddy-time has now become evening wrestling matches with the boys. tonight i had the very BAD idea to stick around and watch, and it was painful. boys are weird, was all i could think, as they shrieked in pain one second and laughed the next. one thing is for certain, they LOVE their daddy-time. and kudos to jeff who gets up well before any of us do, works a VERY hard job, and comes home to kicks in the face. and he loves it too!

mother's day

my sweet boys! it was a great day and i felt lavished--i feel like after YEARS of being disappointed by the hubby he's gotten what i like. i got home from a visit to charlotte and the entire house, including my car, was clean!!! yay. that is all the mama wants, can i hear a shout out?!

we had a great day of me embarrassing myself all day long. at brunch i pulled a, 'don't i know you? you look sooooo familiar...' to a complete stranger. (i do this all the time and it's either the chickfila checkout person or the bagboy at harris teeter!). this time was a winner. it was the MAYOR OF GREENSBORO!!!!!!!!!!!! yikes. he took it gracefully.

then we went to costco for a family outing to buy toilet paper (lovely) and there was a sampling station of coffee. jeff of course gets some and then gets in this long conversation with who i think is the costco worker managing cream and sugar. he waves me over and i'm all ugh about it. he says this is don pablo, a familiar name in coffee for me. well i proceed to tell don pablo himself that this is funny, he's not really don pablo, and how cool is it that they are able to scan each sales person's face on the cover of the coffee bag. AGH! it only took me five minutes to get that it was him for real.

so i had lots of laughs. hope you did too.

oh and i almost forgot to share what i got as a gift from my kids...a MOOD ring! ha! this way they can know if they need to run or not! lovely again.

race day!

so I did my very first official race today--a 5K that was part of gboro's first marathon. i have run in a half marathon before, but it was totally unplanned and a mistake, really. but that is a story for another day!

it was a stretch for sure, and though nerve-filled, a huge accomplishment. i put in our christmas letter this year that i wanted to do a race, so at least the pressure is now off! we're on to bigger and better: jeff wants to train for a half marathon soon. we'll see about that...

my time was good (27 minutes which was fast for me!) and it was fun to do something out of my comfort zone. 'go mommy go!' was my race to the finish line. yay. feels good.
